Luxury vinyl flooring in Stafford, VA from First American Carpet & Floors

Does luxury vinyl tile flooring need to be grouted?

Luxury vinyl is a versatile material that is designed to mimic tile flooring. Grout is needed to join ceramic and stone tiles together. But it's not necessary when you choose vinyl tile, which can be installed in any room of your home. Styles that are just right for each room are found at First American Carpet & Floors. Our showrooms are located in Woodbridge and Stafford, Virginia. We carry brands by Mohawk, Chesapeake, and more.

Maintenance-free

When a tile floor is installed, the grout must be sealed. Then, it must be resealed, as needed, throughout the lifespan of the floor. And sometimes, the grout needs to be replaced. Groutless ceramic or stone look luxury vinyl tile, on the other hand, is maintenance-free. The high-tech image of ceramic or stones like marble, slate, granite, and travertine is well protected from stains and abrasion. Tiles that are damaged by an unforeseen incident are easily replaced.

Four layers

It's the wear layer that protects the image layer. Invest in a tile brand that has a thick wear layer to get a long-lasting floor. A 20-mil thickness is ideal for spaces that are well used. The core layer is situated below the image layer and above the backing layer. Tiles that have a wood-plastic composite or a stone plastic composite core are waterproof. A floor constructed with WPC and SPC tiles will not warp or peel even after prolonged exposure to water.
